Suddenly, there she was -

Prancing on a large flat rock

As I rounded a corner

Of the wild pacific

On a near sunset stroll

Contemplating the coming

Kiss of the autumnal equinox,

I was mesmerized by this

Barefoot beauty with only a dress –

Dancing amid a silent flock

Of  winter white gulls and

Sea birds skipping the tide.

Her dress, caught by the wind

Clung to her neck like a kite

Afraid to leave the string,

Revealing the bare beauty

That men cry for, vie for, have

Died for since time began.

She didn’t see me, didn’t hear me,

At least paid no heed –

Just prancing -

Legs lifting, feet arching, toes

Pointing, back bending, fingers

Locking, lips rhyming,

Dance with me, dance with me,

Dance with me.
