On the edge of a winter storm ...
Fiftieth Parallel
(Jonathan Hinds & Philip Marchand)
www.facebook.com/fiftiethparallel ... played up a storm of the wild
and wonderful kind. People told us they were good, but that isn’t true.
Hinds & Marchand are
beyond good. There has been a lot of talent through this coffee shop
these past few months ... but no
one has left the place echoing like
Fiftieth Parallel has. The hair on the neck of the Unknown
Musician is still horizontal.
www.CRShorelineArts.ca . We have their new CD,
Fiftieth Parallel – Weapon Of The
Future, for sale at
$15.00. All proceeds go to the artists.
Until Next Time ... From Everyone

Kyell Erickson came, he sang, he
impressed. It was a wonderful evening with the windows fogged to the
ceiling and everyone really appreciative of Kyell’s original
compositions and his covers. For those who missed it ... think back to
when you were in grade eleven ... did you have the stuff to do a
successful solo gig for nearly two hours non-stop? Kyell will be back in
the coming year. Watch for this young man. Campbell River’s got talent.
Jazz
Vocalist/Keyboardist Ralph Barrat ...

Due to some
members of the band coming down with the flu
Kevin Hicks’ Elec-Tribe
will not be appearing on Saturday, November
19th . We apologize for the late notice but we have just been
notified ... as you know... the flu is known for not giving much advance
warning.
To kick off
the Christmas Season downtown Campbell River will be dancing into the
late hours with Starlight Shopping on
Friday, December 2nd . Bands, parades, carollers, shopping
specials and all sorts of downright fun and laughter. We will be open
until 11:00 PM - later if shoppers are still into a cup of some of the
best espresso, coffee and hot chocolate on The Island. If you haven’t
yet met Diane, take a break from
the shopping and festivities on Friday night...stop by say Hi.
The evening
of December 2nd will be our first in the series of
New Artists In Concert .

Freeman & Hill
was one of those times when you wished the particular time would never
end. They took us on musical journey from today to yesterday to tomorrow
then back to today and then, unfortunately, the clock said the time had
to end. But did it really end?
The Unknown
Musician (www.CRShorelineArts.ca
) is still smiling. If you missed the mystical magic of Freeman & Hill
you may still be able to reserve a seat for their next concert on
December 4th at 1:00 PM at The Dolphins Resort (
www.DolphinsResort.com
) . Thank You
David &
Sussana for adding
Nesbitt’s Island Coffee to your fall tour schedule.
Kevin Hick’s Elec-Tribe
will be here (Nesbitt’s Island Coffee) at 7:00 PM on Saturday – November
19th . Kevin has travelled the world and studied with some of
the great percussion jazz masters. You are in for one cool evening ....
but remember, although there is no cover or charge tips to the band will
be appreciated ...
reservations are a must .

250-287-4887 to reserve your seat/s.
Just a
reminder that The Unknown Musician is
appearing daily at Nesbitt’s Island Coffee. Stop by – shake his hand –
you’ll have a musical day ... Until next time ... here’s to your coffee being just

David Essig
( www.DavidEssig.com
) has played in many famous places around the world. Last night in
Campbell River at Nesbitt’s Island Coffee we experienced a world famous
performance in a relatively unknown place. David had the Unknown
Musician tapping his foot and the Tina Dickey abstracts (
www.Trillistar.com
) smiling and swaying on the walls. The rest of us ... we watched and
listened in awe and wonderment ... thank you David, thank you, thank
you.
This coming
Saturday – November 5th at 7:00 PM – Freeman & Hill will be
here. A few seats left – No Cover/ No Charge – don’t let the no charge
fool you. David Freeman is a world class song writer ...

Wow! If you
haven’t seen Nigel Nikolaisen’s full
performance ... track his next one down before the big cities steel him
away. The music gods be willing he will be back at Nesbitt’s in the New
Year.
A special thanks to the
Chamber Of Commerce for
blocking Shoppers Row from 11th to 12th
... it gave the evening sort of a red carpet
feel... without the carpet. The two guards posted at each end made
everyone feel extra special and safe.
Up next is
David Essig on October 29th.
Still a few tickets left ($15.00 each) and as always all ticket revenue
goes to the performing artist. David’s web site is
www.DavidEssig.com . Sundays are poets and writers day at Nesbitt’s. If
you write and would like to read some of your work come on down. If all
you wish to do is discuss, debate, argue ... hey that’s fine too. No
specific time as all free spirits run on now time. Whatever time you get
here is the right time.
A
“Tip Of The Hat”
to all of our customers old and new and to all of
our neighbours on Shoppers Row for helping to make this location such a
fun place to be.

Our first month at 1140 Shoppers Row is part of
history ... thanks to everyone who has stopped by, grabbed a bagel,
sipped a cappuccino and made this spot in the heart of the city more fun
– more exciting.

Two Sons Left was a load
of fun. Thanks to Slinger & Ringer and everyone who attended and helped
kick off our first night of live entertainment. More to come....watch

for coming announcements. Of course news will be posted at 1140 Shoppers
Row.
Tina Dickey
... artist, author, lecturer ...
www.Trillistar.com
... has five of her paintings gracing our walls. The energy in the
building has been greatly enhanced in the short time they have been
here. It’s hard to explain, you have to spend some time in the room to
hear the silent music. Imagine this....the ground the building sits on
was filled with magic long
before
the explorers arrived. We have installed
ancient Chinese slate on the floors. Add the energy, the vibrations from
Tina’s
work and you have writer’s word floods and jams.
Speaking about words and writing we are getting
ready to set up some readings. Should you write, or know someone who
does, do
stop by. If you’re lucky...stopping by might coincide with
John Bailey sketching from one of the sidewalk tables...you don’t know
John Bailey ... you must stop by... Once again thank you to everyone helping us have a
hoot in the heart of the city. Until next time ...
